It’s been one year today that we were given the tragic news of Whitney Houston’s passing. It’s still surreal that we lost a legend a year ago. So many hopes died the night Whitney passed at Clive Davis’ annual pre-grammy party but her legacy will forever be remembered.

We will always love you Whitney.

Madame Tussauds Reveals Four Whitney Houston Wax Figures in Her Honor

Today the famous Madame Tussauds museum revealed four wax statues in Whitney Houston‘s honor. This is the first time in 200 years that someone has been honored with this number of statues. Shown today in New York City, the different wax figures will be displayed in separate cities. The four statues represent iconic moments in the late singer’s life. On hand for the reveal were Houston’s brother and her sister in law, Gary and Pat Houston. Pat replied, “We were extremely honored when Madame Tussauds approached us about doing four figures of Whitney from different points in her 30-year career. This is something we are excited to do for the fans.” Houston passed away last year due to an “accidental drowning.”

[New Music] Whitney Houston: “Never Give Up”

It’s been nine months since Whitney Houston‘s death but we still get to hear some new material she had been working on the night before her death. The song is called “Never Give Up”. It is said to appear on Houston’s forthcoming greatest-hits album, ‘I Will Always Love You’, set for a Nov. 13. Listen below.

2012 BET Awards Whitney Houston Tribute

Singers Monica, Brandy, and Whitney Houston‘s brother Gary all took the stage in the late singer’s memory but it was her mother Cissy Houston‘s beautiful tribute that left many attendees and viewers in tears. What an incredible and moving tribute to Whitney. Kudos to BET!

Jordin Sparks & Whitney Houston Duets On Single “Celebrate”

Before Whitney Houston‘s untimely demise, she not only filmed upcoming movie “Sparkle” but also did a duet with fellow singer and co-star Jordin Sparks. Sparks plays Houston’s daughter who has her sight set on becoming the next singing sensation, at the disapproval of her mom, of course.The R. Bobby Brown On Leaving Whitney’s Funeral “I Felt Disrespected”

In part 2 of Matt Lauer‘s exclusive interview with Bobby Brown, he dishes on what happened the day of Whitney’s funeral that caused him to leave early. He speaks on trying to contact Whitney’s mom Cissy Houston and how daughter Bobbi Kristina is coping. Three of his children from other relationship as well as his fiancee also joined in the interview to defend Brown’s image and provide their own thoughts on the matter.

On attending Whitney’s funeral but leaving after an altercation with security Bobby says, “They [Houston Family] definitely wanted me there. It wasn’t that I wasn’t invited, I was invited, so just coming to pay respects for my ex-wife they would not hold me from, that’s not the kind of family the Houston family is. Their a great family and I appreciate them very much.”

“Whoever the security was that was there asked that I have, what they called “my entourage”, which was my children, sit somewhere else. We had to sit apart and I was not willing to sit away from my children so after the third time them coming to me I felt a little disrespected by the security that was there. I decided that it would be best if I just left, I kissed the casket and me and my children left the building.”

On whether he feels Cissy Houston is not willing to speak to him after unsuccessfully being able to contact her, “I wouldn’t say that. I know she’s going through it deeply deeply going through it. She lost her only daughter. I’m here anytime she wants to talk. I’m here.”

Although he admits to having a cocktail from time to time, on being sober Brown says, ” I am 7 years clean from narcotics. I’m living the life I want to live.”

Bobby Brown On Whitney’s Death, “Maybe I Could Have Done Something Different”

In Bobby Brown‘s first exclusive interview with Today’s Matt Lauer, Brown speaks on how he learned of Whitney’s death and being surprised that she was still struggling with sobriety. He says, “maybe I could have done something different”.

He went on to say how much he loved Whitney and appreciated the years they’ve spent together. “Our relationship was great,” he said. “I had 14 beautiful, beautiful years with that woman…I can honestly say I love that woman with, with everything that I am. And I believe she loved me the same way.”

On still loving Whitney he says, “I still love her today. Even though I’m getting married, some time soon. My fiance knows how I felt about that woman. My kids know how I feel how I felt about Whitney. It’s no secret. I was in love with her deeply.”

Whitney Houston Official Cause of Death Revealed

The official toxicology report for the late Whitney Houston was released Thursday afternoon from the L.A. County Coroner’s office. The report reveals Houston died from an accidental drowning but also notes the singer had cocaine in her system at the time, which may have contributed as well as heart disease. As reported at the time of her death, Houston’s body was found floating in her Beverly Hills hotel bathtub.

There were also presence of marijuana, Xanax (anxiety medication), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Benadryl (allergy medication).

An investigator who worked closely with the Coroner’s office also notes it’s quite possible the singer suffered a heart attack, causing her to lose consciousness and drown, stemming from hardened arteries due to cocaine use.

Following the news of Whitney’s official cause of death, the Houston family released an official statement. The family states, “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.”

Oprah Interviews Bobbi Kristina & Whitney Houston’s Family Since Tragic Passing

In her first interview since Whitney Houston’s death, daughter Bobbi Kristina spoke with Oprah, Sunday night, during an episode of  OWN’s ‘Next Chapter’.

Oprah’s was personally invited to the Atlanta home of Patricia Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law, best friend and manager. After entering the home and getting a small tour, Oprah and Bobbi Kristina meet and speak very casually about her mom’s passing and how she’s been.

When asked just how she’s been coping Bobbi Kristina answers, “I’m doing as good as I possibly can. Just trying to keep going” She adds her family and her belief in the lord has been helping.

On her mother she says she still feels her spirit in the house and notes that it was very difficult to stay in her mom’s home the first night back after she had passed. Since then she says she’s found some comfort in knowing and feeling her spirit around her now, “I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to me. I got you’ (a phrase Whitney always said). She asked me, ‘Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, ‘I’ll always need you.’ ”

Even in death, Whitney Houston reigns as “The Voice” of our generation. The late singer graces the March issue of Rolling Stone magazine, detailing some of her most memorable and fondest moments through out her career.

But it doesn’t end there, Houston has broken another BillBoard record. She’s now the first woman with three albums in Billboard 200′s Top 10. This includes “Whitney: the Greatest Hits” at No. 2 with 174,000 (down less than 1% according to Nielsen SoundScan), “The Bodyguard” soundtrack jumps 38-6 (47,000; up 176%) and “Whitney Houston” at 37-9 (30,000; up 72%).

Whitney’s records can also be found at No. 16 (“I Look to You”), No. 30 (“My Love Is Your Love”), No. 39 (“I’m Your Baby Tonight”), No. 105 (“The Preacher’s Wife”), No. 126 (“Just Whitney”), No. 133 (“Whitney”). And a three-CD bundle at No. 73. it includes “Baby,” “My Love” and “Just Whitney.”

Since the 2 weeks since her passing Whitney has sold 668,000 albums and 2.76 million tracks. Amazing!
