Tyrese would like to clear up some recent comments he made about “fat” and “nasty” people. Yesterday we reported on some of the not so nice comments Ty made regarding overweight people and living a healthier lifestyle.
Among other things, here’s a bit of what he said. “If you are fat and nasty and you don’t like the way you look, do something about it. It’s simple. When you take a shower and you put your fat, nasty body in the shower and by the time you get out, the mirrors are all steamed up so you don’t look at what you did to yourself.”
Tyrese is now clarifying what he meant by those statements but he’s not exactly apologizing. During a Twitter rant he wrote,
“I’m not apologizing for what I said I’m apologizing for the bad choice of wording and execution of my point around obesity …Y’all seen my documentary I was brought in this world from a plus size mother and my sisters are plus size as well.. I am concerned always!”, he continued. _______READMORE
During a recent interview Tyrese offended overweight people with comments they’ve found to be very disrespectful. Although he was asked his thought on promoting a healthier lifestyle, Tyrese’s choice of words has gotten him in some serious hot water.
He stated, “If you are fat and nasty and you don’t like the way you look, do something about it. It’s simple. When you take a shower and you put your fat, nasty body in the shower and by the time you get out, the mirrors are all steamed up so you don’t look at what you did to yourself.”

It’s been 2 years since the passing of R&B icon Teddy Pendergrass and perhaps the same length of time we’ve heard rumors crooner Tyrese Gibson would take on the role in his biopic. Pendergrass, himself, even expressed interest to have the singer play him before his death on January 13, 2010.
Now, we’ve gotten some confirmation.
The singer tweeted this morning, “NEWS:.. I have officially secured the life rights to the Life Story of Teddy Pendergrass. My inspiration… This movie will be made…”
This was long in the making actually. The two singers had formed a close friendship before Pendergrass succumbed to his colon cancer diagnosis and respiratory complications. As for when the project will be released? No further details have been released.
Do you think Gibson can successfully take on this role? Why or why not?
He told us it was coming. The official video for Tyrese‘s “Nothing On You” with his love interest played by TLC’s Chilli Thomas, has made its premiere. The song speaks of a man’s love for his woman and how no one else can replace her or can ever be her. In the spirit of love, there’s no wonder Mr. Gibson chose the week of Valentine’s day to release the visual.
Tyrese is back with new single “Nothing On You” and he has brought along TLC’s Chilli to play his love interest in the upcoming music video. The song details the love a man has for his woman, and reassures her there is no one else for him.
On working with Tyrese Chilli says, “Working with Tyrese, didn’t feel like work at all. There was so much chemistry between us, everything flowed naturally. Tyrese has such a beautiful voice and when you hear “Nothing on You” it just makes you want to embrace LOVE. I’m so proud of Tyrese’s accomplishments, he’s so talented…music, movies, books-(and we certainly can’t forget those breath-taking features) and there’s still so much more to come from him.”
Unless you’ve been under a rock, you may already know Tyrese has been heavily promoting his latest album, ‘Open Invitation’. The album is his first in 6 years and has garnered him his first #1 album on the urban market. And he’s not done yet. This time he’s brought along Faith Evans and Rick Ross for the remix of lead single, “Stay”, and I have it here for your enjoyment. Listen below.
It’s been 6 years but Tyrese is dead set on ensuring his latest album, ‘Open Invitation’, is a success. He even held a private listening party in his living room.
In recent weeks, the singer/actor has released a number of records and is heavily promoting his album via twitter, blog sites and anyone who’ll listen. With the record industry on shaky grounds and many artists who’ve had projects shelved, I can’t blame the man. It has been 6 years after all. Here’s a bit of what you can look forward to on Tyrese’s latest project.
Tyrese is still in high gear to release his latest album in six years, ‘Open Invitation’. With heavy promotion, appearances, the release of new music, including latest singe “Stay” and behind the scenes trailers and sneek peaks the singer clearly wants to ensure this album will be a success, and I can’t blame him.
Unfortunately, not everyone’s in his corner. The singer recently tweeted, “I normally dn’t post what haters speak. But I guess ths dude saying “Tyrese will never sell records as an independent artist” pissed me off”.
Do you think Mr. Gibson can garner success as an independent artist? Check out new single and official visual for newest single “Too Easy”.
Last week a song was leaked from Tyrese‘s forthcoming album ‘Open Invitation’ titled “For The Rest Of Lives”. Although there is another version of the single featuring Melanie Fiona the new version now features Brandy.
According to Gibson,
“This is a wedding song that was written for the ‘First Dance” where the husband is speaking blessings into his wife’s life and she’s doing the same in the second verse” We were long overdue for a new classic wedding song embrace and enjoy”..
Tyrese didn’t lie when he promised a behind the scenes footage of the “Stay” video shoot with a guest appearance from the lovely Taraji P. Henson, she plays Gibson’s love interest.
The record is featured on the singer’s forthcoming album ‘Open Invitation’ set for a November 1st release. Pure R&B at its finest. No gimmicks here, just pure soul music. If you didn’t see the video in its entirety, go HERE!!!
The visual for Tyrese‘s “Stay”video has finally made its world premiere! The singer turned actor has gone back to his musical roots and this time he’s giving us the more grown and sexy Mr. Gibson.
The video concept’s depicts a rocky relationship that’s on the verge of ending and he is now faced with letting it fall apart or make more of a commitment. He decides it is not worth losing the woman of his dreams and all she has done for him and wants her to “Stay”. He then asks her to marry him.
