Tyler Perry Begins Shooting New Movie, “Single Mom’s Club”

(filmofilia.com)

Tyler Perry is at it again. He has began shooting for his new film, “Single Mom’s Club” which is slated to be released May 9th of next year. Perry’s new film is about a group of single mothers who decide to come together and build a support group after an incident at their children’s school. Along with Perry, Nia Long, Wendi Mclendon-Covey, Zulay Henao, Terry Crews, Eddie Cibrian, and Cocoa Brown will be starring in the film. The film has already caused a bit of commotion causing heavy traffic in the Decatur area of Atlanta. Now, as a single mother I am praying that Perry does us justice. I am not really a Tyler Perry fan because I just can’t seem to get into his movies. But I still have faith that this will be a good one. With the correct writers and great material, it could be a hit and finally one without Madea! :)

Here are a few pictures of the stars of the new film:

[Movie Trailer] Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’s Witness Protection’

Tyler Perry is back with ‘Madea’s Witness Protection’. This time around, an investment banker finds himself in the midst of a Ponzi scheme investigation when he and his family are placed in the witness protection program. They’re then relocated from their posh Connecticut neighborhood to Madea’s southern home. Watch the trailer below this one looks funny guys.

For the look of this trailer, Tyler Perry may have struck gold again. The movie will officially open in theaters June 29th. Will you be watching?

Tyler Perry Shares His Ideas On Success, Says “Anything Is Possible”

In a recent video blog, producer, writer, and actor Tyler Perry shares his advise on how to become successful.

He says, “Plant your seed in the ground, water it, and believe…I planted my seed, I worked really hard…focus on one thing, one area, put all of your energy into watering one area. If you spread the water across many, many seeds you won’t have as much water for that one seed. Focus on that one thing, make it your priority and stick with it not matter what.”

I must admit, although I loved many of Tyler’s plays pre-big screens and big budgets, I have since found his more recent work repetitive and, at times, buffonery. However,, I think he should be applauded for all he’s been able to achieve. He’s broken many barriers and his art is just that, his art. For fellow producers who’ve handed out their criticism I’d say to counter act those portrayals of black people they hate so much, do something about it. Show another aspect. Nonetheless, you have to give credit where it’s due and because of all his hard work, he deserves his success. Well said Tyler!

Tyler Perry Writes Touching Christmas Letter To Fans

In honor of the Christmas spirit, Tyler Perry writes a touching letter to his fans; expressing his appreciation and all that he has been blessed with. In the letter, posted on his official website, he recalls the promise he made to his mother as a young boy and how his fans helped to make those dreams come true and even surpass them. He writes,

One of the Greatest Gifts I’ve Ever Been Given

When I was a little boy (I couldn’t have been more than 6 or 7), my mother and I were riding in the car one day and she looked over at this car that was passing by and her eyes lit up. In my little boy voice, I said, “what mamma?” She said, “you see that car right there, that’s beautiful.” I said to her, “when I get big I’m going to buy you that car.” She looked at me and said, “OK baby,” and smiled. I don’t know if she believed me, but she sure made me feel like I would one day.

When I was growing up, there were so many times when she was sad because of our home situation or her illnesses. She had survived breast cancer and came through some unimaginable things in her life. As a child, I felt this huge responsibility to try and make her feel better. I can remember being very young sitting with her on the sofa trying to comfort her. I would say, “when I get big, I’m going to be able to take care of you and you won’t have to worry about anything.” She would say, “OK baby,” then I would go to my room and pray. I remember this like it was yesterday. I would pray, “God, please bless me enough to be able to take care of my mother.” That’s all I wanted! My hope was just to do well enough to take care of her, that’s it. Now look at what the LORD has done….Jesus!

The backlash from fans and foes have been tremendous and perhaps expected. Many people feel duped and have even started a petition to ban everything Kardashian! Ha! Despite issuing a touching letter to fans, the starlet can’t seem to catch a break.

And now in the latest Kim saga, Perry’s fans are insisting he drop her from his film. In his own letter, he writes,

I think many of you know that this is a very difficult time of year for me, so what I try to do is make sure that I’m working during this time. All I wanted to do was shoot a great film and try to keep my mind off the holiday grief that I have been experiencing for the past two years. I could not have imagined I’d be getting all these emails about Kim Kardashian. I HAVE SEEN THEM!! YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD!! …LOL. Now, may I say something? Can a brother get a word in?….LOL. Y’all gave me a new movie title, Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman Cause You Hired Kim Kardashian, Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings and Boycott Yo A**.”…LOL. Some of my ladies are upset. Ok, all jokes aside, can I have my say? Will you at least here me out?

Tyler Perry Admits To Childhood Abuse On Oprah

On Tuesday’s episode of The Oprah Show the talented actor, producer, comedian and philanthropist Tyler Perry admits his childhood abuse, both sexually and physically.  He describes it as “a living hell.”

Tyler confessed that he thought his father hated him, brutally beating him as a child, on many occasions, for no reason.

“To this day, I don’t know why he did it. But I remember him cornering me in a room and hitting me with this vacuum cleaner cord. He would just not stop,” Tyler said. “There are all these welts on [me], the flesh that’s coming from my bone, and I had to wait for him to go to sleep. When he fell asleep, I ran to my aunt’s house, and she was mortified when she saw it.”

The first time he was molested was at the age of 5 or 6 when he was building a birdhouse with a male neighbor and he put his hands down Tyler’s pants.

“I’m thinking, ‘What is this?’ ” he said. “And I felt my body betraying me, because I felt an erection at that age.”

He also recalled a man he knew from church molesting him as a young boy.

“[The man from church] used God and the Bible against me to justify a lot of the things that were going on,” he said. “It was so horrible. And that was my first sexual experience, with this man performing oral sex on me as a boy.”

Living in fear and “hell” as he describes it, Tyler admits to slitting his wrist and attempting to commit suicide.

“I thought, ‘What is the point of living?’ ” he recalled. “My mother was truly my saving grace, because she would take me to church with her. I would see my mother smiling in the choir, and I wanted to know this God that made her so happy. If I had not had that faith in my life, I don’t know where I would be right now.”

Tyler discusses being confused about his sexuality.

How could it not? I knew I liked the little girls in the neighborhood, but this man was doing something to me and my body kept betraying me. It took me all of my 20s to figure out what this was that this man had given me to carry inside of my heterosexuality that did not belong to me. This is why so many men will not talk about this—the shame of having to admit that.

A tearful Tyler, good friends with Oprah, who has also suffered from sexual abuse,  thanked her for helping him push for a better future after watching an episode of The Oprah Show.

He hopes that his story will help other men find the courage to speak out and find a way to heal.

Tyler says he has forgiven his father but no longer wants him in his life.

Following his appearance on the show his father allegedly sent him a text saying,

“If I had beat your ass one more time, you probably would have been Barack Obama.”

Wow! What a heavy burden to carry around.
