Vh1 Cancels ‘Basketball Wives: LA’ Reality Show?

Rumor has it, VH1 has pulled the plug on ‘Basketball Wives: LA’. But are we surprised? The show has declined drastically in ratings since the first season and viewers have noticeably grown weary of Gloria and Laura Govan — something onlookers expressed during the show’s season 2 reunion show.

Since it’s first season, the show has lost 1 million of the 2 million weekly viewers they received in the beginning. With the addition of Adiz “Bambi” Benton, Malaysia Pargo‘s best friend, and  model Brooke Bailey the show was not able to sustain its ratings. Even Jackie Christie‘s train wreck and crazy antics couldn’t save it.

It was just last November that we reported some members of the cast could be getting the axe. Following the shows season 2 finale, producer Shaunie O’neal also hinted that there may be some shake up in the cast for necessary changes. However, it appears the network has decided to pull the plug on the show entirely.

The season 3 reunion show for VH1’s “Love And Hip Hop” was dramatic as expected. Did we expect any different? Winter and L’oreal address why their friendship fell apart and the controversy over Winter’s book, Rashida and Raqi hashed out just why they don’t like each other, ( kinda) while Rashida also accuses Yandy’s fiancé, Mendeecees, of having a very small penis. Tahiry discusses distancing herself from Raqi and ending their friendship over meaningless drama and her closeness to Joe Budden. Things got a bit tense once Rich, his mom, Olivia and Erica took the stage over Rich and Erica’s roller-coaster relationship. Erica was defensive, as expected, but did admit to falling in love with Rich and getting a tattoo in honor of him – proven by a lie detector test. However, she also admitted to cheating with multiple people while Rich looked on like a wounded dog. Rich also confessed his love for Erica but also had to admit he looked like a fool although his friends and family tried to warn him about her.

Things took an emotional turn when Joe’s girlfriend, Kaylin, took the stage in tears over her relationship with Joe and seeing him still be in love with Tahiry. Although Joe reveals he and Kaylin broke up, he admits, they’ve been intimate since trying to resume a relationship with Tahiry. Unfortunately for Tahiry, Joe also says he’s no longer in love with her, proven by the results of a lie detector test and, as expected, she was not too pleased to say the least. The Ricki Lake Show Has Been Cancelled……Again!

Well, that was short lived! But, it’s not like wee didn’t see it coming. The new installment of The Ricki Lake Show not only did not bring in the ratings it was, quite frankly, boring! We still love you though Ricki. After only one season Twentieth Century Fox has cancelled the show.

Although she tried Lake no longer had the spark she exude during her 90′s daytime talk show. And, as we know, day time talk shows don’t have much longevity these days.

Anderson Cooper‘s show, ‘Anderson Live‘, was also cancelled along with British host Jeremy Kyle’s own show. Although he brought lots of spunk, his show just didn’t real in the ratings he had hoped.

Who did make it on to another season, however? Surprisingly Katie Couric and Steve Harvey made it on to another round.

That’s really too bad for Ricki. We were really rooting for her.

Rumors are circulating Queen Latifah may land her very own talk show. This wouldn’t be the first time, however. The rapper turned actress joined the daytime talk show arena back in 1999 with her own show until its cancellation in 2001.

The re-installment of “The Queen Latifah Show” will be executive produced by the “queen” herself, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.

According to Deadline.com the show will fuse comedy, pop culture and musical features as well as celebrity interviews and human interest stories.

Anderson Cooper will not get a third season of daytime talk show, Anderson Live!

The show, unable to bring in huge ratings, will officially end the Summer of 2013. The Warner Brothers studios released this official statement on Monday,

“We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced. While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through. We will continue to deliver top-quality shows throughout next summer.”

Anderson Cooper speaks for the first time about his coming out as “a gay man and proud” on his day time talk show.

Anderson says, “I’ve always been out to my coworkers and stuff,” Cooper told guest co-host Kristen Chenoweth. “It’s just not something I talked about publicly because as a reporter I didn’t think it was appropriate. It didn’t seem part of my job.”

As for what eventually inspired him to officially come out, Cooper reflected on the importance of “visibility,” saying he thought “the tide of history only moves forward when everyone is fully visible.”

He added: “I didn’t want to send a message that there was anything I was ashamed about or unhappy about or not comfortable with.”

Ricki Lake Is Back With New Talk Show

Ricki’s back! Ricki Lake, 44, is making her comeback to the daytime talk show arena. Although not new, the show, is a reincarnation of her 1993-2004 talk show ‘The Ricki Lake Show’.

On her return to television Ricki says, “I have a specific point of view and a vision and a sense of who I am at this point in my life. Not that I have it all figured out, but growth comes with age and life experience.”

“The Ricki Lake Show,” just made its debut on Monday, 5pm eastern, this time on the CW network. The show was original on My9tv (Formerly the UPN 9).
