After Elle magazine released four covers of their “The Women in TV Issue” issues, on Monday, critics were quick to point out the difference between Mindy Kaling,, an Indian-American actress of ‘The Mindy Project’, and that of three other women actresses, including Amy Poehler, Zooey Deschanel and Allison Williams.
While Mindy’s cover was presented as a black-and-white close up, the other three ladies (all white actresses by the way), were all featured on the cover in full-length spreads and in color. Critics speculated Mindy’s cover was purposely done in the way it had been because of her fuller figure — hiding her curvy frame.
The controversy sparked so much debate, it was the topic of discussion for much of the day.
Now, Kaling is finally addressing the controversy and sharing her own thoughts on the matter.
On Tuesday we revealed that Latin singer Rihanna and pop star Rihanna have not only collaborated together but will officially release their new single, “Can’t Remember To Forget You,” Monday, January the 13th.
The collaboration was a well kept secret we must say.
During her recent interview with Glamour magazine (for the mag’s February 2014 issue), Shakira said much of the same, also revealing what it was like working with the fellow songstress and what she’s learned from Rihanna.
On her duet with Rihanna…
“[W]orking with her was utopia. She’s the sexiest woman on the planet. And at the end of the day, we’re both just basically Caribbean girls. The chemistry was so good and so real. She taught me dance moves. She was a sweet teacher.”
The bad gal herself also shared an excerpt of the full interview with fans, on Instagram, of what Shakira had to say. She added, “Shakira Shakira #iheartShak.”
Reality star and fashionista, Khloe Kardashian, recently sat down with Cosmopolitan magazine (UK) to discuss her “fresh start” since filing for divorce from NBA player Lamar Odom (See HERE).
Just two days left in 2013 and Khloe is looking forward to some new beginnings in 2014. She tells the magazine, “I love the new year, new beginnings. I need a good fresh start; I’m excited for this year to be over with. You only live once so let’s make that one time perfect. We can’t fix our mistakes and imperfections, so let’s have fun. You get what you give out in life.”
Does this look like actress Kerry Washington to you? That’s the question many is asking after getting a glance of the November 2013 Lucky magazine cover.
A photo shop job gone wrong, to say the least.
Although the ‘Scandal’ actress herself unveiled the magazine cover to fans on Twitter, she did not share her own thoughts of the magazine spread. But her fans had lots to say? Thousands of messages were fueled with confusion and disappointment.
Washington graces the cover, visibly, a shade or two darker than her natural complexion, a layered and wispy bob, and altered features. Even her famous pout and smile seemed to have undergone some sort of configuration. A major difference from Washington’s Glamour magazine cover just one month earlier.
Naomi Campbell is still gracing magazine covers even at 43 years old. And can we blame her? The model, looks fantastic, while gracing the newest cover of China’s L’Officiel magazine.
In fact, she can still walk circles around a model half her age — something she demonstrated during 2013 Fall Fashion Week back in September.
Question is, CK readers, are you loving Naomi’s newest magazine cover?
She’s no longer apart the cast of ‘Love And Hip Hop New York’ or rapper Joe Budden‘s girlfriend but Kaylin Garcia is doing just fine.
Still relishing from her twerk tour….(yes, she’s spear-headed a twerk tour in several cities across the country), we can’t deny the bodacious 21 year old model, Zumba instructor and dance choreographer, looks gorgeous on the cover of I’Adore Magazine.
CK readers, are we loving the cover?
The beautiful Rihanna channels Medusa on the 25th anniversary cover of British GQ. Of revealing the cover the singer tweeted, “Medusa head on me like I’m ‘luminati!!!! She. x Damien Hirst #GQ #25thAnniversary #COVER.”

The beautiful Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas not only graces the newest issue of Rolling Out magazine. She reminisces over the past two decades of her career with best selling female group, TLC, the trials and tribulations including Left Eye’s tragic death, the group’s upcoming VH1 biopic and even thank rappers like J. Cole and Drake for their positivity.
On wanting To Do A TLC Movie:
“I’m very proud of [the film]” she says. “It was something that I’ve always wanted for my group. The right time presented itself, and so that’s why it’s happening. I just watched one of the last edits this past weekend and it was exactly the way I wanted it.”
On The TLC Legacy:
“We kind of just put ourselves out there,” Chilli says. “Whether it was interviews or the songs we sang about. I think people knew that we were all about girl power. We’ve been called feminists, and we are a little bit, but not to the extreme that some people may think. We’ve been called ‘male bashers,’ but we’re definitely not male bashers. We just talked about things from a woman’s perspective. And a lot of our songs aren’t just for girl power, it’s just power for everybody.
For the second time in seven years, Esquire magazine has named Scarlett Johansson the ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’. In fact, the newly engaged actress to Frenchman Romain Duriac, is the first woman to snag the title twice! Johannson earned the title back in 2006.
Head over to Esquire magazine to check some more exclusive photos of the actress.
Kerry Washington covers the November issue of Essence magazine, looking stunning we must add.
The newly married “it” girl sits down during an exclusive interview with the magazine to talk all things ‘Scandal’.
On the brink of the show’s season three premiere she tells Essence, “People are sitting on their couches and they’re in a relationship with us. When people come up to me, they’re saying, ‘What are you going to do next week?’”
Chris Brown still doesn’t understand that it’s his arrogance that’s holding him back and nothing else.
The troubled singer recently sat down with Jet magazine to detail his trials and tribulations following the 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Although it’s been four years, since the assault, the singer doesn’t seem to understand why’s he continued to be crucified for his past sins.
From probation violations, club brawls, a love triangle, Twitter rants, disputes with disgruntled neighbors, and a recent fender-bender he tells the magazine he’s trying to just be a normal 24 year old.
JET: You’ve been in the spotlight for over 10 years. Have you ever wished for a regular life?
Chris Brown: I try to grasp the concept of being a normal guy sometimes. But when you start singing professionally at 14, 15… I look back at it and I’m only 24, but I’m starting to feel old. I’m not trying to be younger or older. I’m just trying to be my age and move with the time.
Idris Elba recently sat down with GQ magazine revealing quite a bit about himself.
The usually private actor, reflects on being a struggling actor, working as a doorman and his past as a drug dealer.
He tells the magazine, “I was DJ’ing, but I was also pushing bags of weed; I was doing my work.”
“I had to. I know that sounds corny, but this is the truth,” he adds.
