Solange Knowles recently sat down with Complex magazine to discuss finally being able to be the true artist that she is, finding herself after divorce, being a mother to her son Juelz, and finding the balance.
On Finding Herself After Her Divorce
Solange first admits to “wil’ in” out a bit after divorcing her childhood sweetheart, Daniel Smith, in 2009. She says,“Houston’s hip-hop scene was in the forefront,” Solange recalls. “I remember going to all of these shows: Paul Wall, Bun B, Mike Jones, Slim Thug. I enjoyed the freedom and the newness of experiencing people and a world that I had not had much access to.”
On Being In Control Of Her Career
“I wanted to make all of the creative artistic decisions but I wasn’t the one paying for it. And they didn’t fully trust me to make them,” she says. “Every decision was a battle. It was exhausting. I wanted to be in a position where not only was the music fully my body of work, but everything thereafter was also my body of work. I knew that meant I had to leave and that I had to struggle.”

Pink looks exactly the same as when she first burst onto the music scene back in 1999. Don’t believe us? Just take a look at her recent Glamour magazine cover. Fourteen years later, and the now 33 year old hasn’t aged one bit. What she had done, however, is become more edgier, bolder, more outspoken, and, we just love her for it!
During her recent sit down with the magazine, Pink reveals quite a bit about herself. Perhaps things we didn’t already know. Here’s some of what she had to say. And about that, “reformed slut” comment, well, let her explain…
Glamour: On sex songs on her last album. Particularly, “Slut Like You” and “Walk of Shame.”
Pink: Oh, yeah. I’m a reformed slut.
Her views on the use of the word Slut
It’s my very unsophisticated way of taking the power back. I’ve always had an issue with [the idea that]: “OK, we’ve both decided to do this. Why am I a slut and you’re the player? You didn’t get anything from me that I didn’t get from you.”

Kerry Washington still can’t wrap the success “Scandal” has become around her mind.
“I knew that in my lifetime I’d never seen it. But it didn’t compute to me that I’d be making history. I just fell in love with the character,” she says during a recent interview with Parade Magazine.
She sits down during an exclusive interview with the magazine to discuss movie roles in “ Django”, “Peeples”, and the popular and very scandal ABC drama.
On whether, as a member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, she is aware of President Obama’s view of the show:
“I haven’t wanted to ask the president his opinion of the show. But I have lots of friends in the administration who love it. We make D.C. look sexy and exciting.”
<Tyler Perry and <Oprah has proven, once again, that the rest of us are clearly doing something wrong. The two powerhouse grace the cover of the latest Essence magazine and do so gracefully.
The two have also teamed up on several new products that will make their debut shortly.
On their partnership Oprah says, “We both know how rare this is. Where else in the history of our African-American culture have two really, really successful people who can do whatever they want said, ‘Let’s come together and be even more powerful—let’s take it to the tenth power?’”
Perry and Winfrey will work together on two new television series that will air on Oprah’s OWN network very soon. Perry has created, written and will be producer for series, “Love Thy Neighbor” and “The Haves & Have Nots”.
The new issue hits stores on May 10th.
Miley Cyrus has sure come a long way from her “Hanna Montana’ days. Just check out her very revealing and raunchy V magazine spread and photos
Cyrus sits down during an exclusive interview the magazine to discuss her upcoming record and just how she’s evolved from the pop star to the fearless fashionista with an edg. She also discusses finding her own sound, with the help of music producer Pharrel Williams.
On working with Pharrel Williams on her new record:
“No one let me sing the way that Pharrell does, which is to just go in and do your sh*t and do all of the harmonies that you do, which is what brings it to where I’m from. Which is being from Nashville and being around Dolly [Parton, her godmother] and listening to her sing. No one would give me the chance to say, “Turn the Auto-Tune off, turn the filter off, and just listen to what I’m saying.” He was the first person that ever did that. I can never say that I don’t love “Party in the U.S.A.” and that I’m not appreciative of it. It would be like my dad saying that he hated “Achy Breaky.” It’s what gives you everything that you have. I would never take it back. But that’s not who I am, that’s not where I want to sing, that’s not what I want to sing, and that’s not what I want my voice to sound like, because you can’t hear me through there. I like that Rihanna has a tone of her own. Beyoncé has a tone of her own. I have a tone of my own. Everything else is just blending into one club mix—but we keep our 808s in there because I love them.”
How Miley describes herself:
“In my mind I’m Gucci Mane, but on paper I’m a pop artist. [laughs]”
And those constant breakup rumor about her & fiance Liam Hemsworth:
“I’m not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work. Every week it’s ‘Are they broken up?’ Because we don’t see a photo of them.’ I don’t have time go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don’t. I’d rather chill at my house and be there for the time I actually get to spend with him. And then I’m at the studio all day. He gets up to work out at six and I come home at five from the studio. I put this record before everything, and I’ve never done that with anything. I’ve put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it.”

Yesterday we unveiled the new Cosmopolitan June 2013 issue with Ms. Khloe Kardashian on the cover. Today we have the dark haired beauty dishing on Kimye’s relationship, never becoming a momager, her trouble conceiving and criticism she has faced and comparisons to her sisters.
On whether Kanye West and sister and mom-to-be, Kim Kardashian, are a good match Khloe says, “I think Kanye knows how to deal with Kim really well. Because we’ve known him for so long, he’ll come to us if he wants advice on a birthday present or something. I like that. Kris [Humphries, Kim’s ex-husband] wouldn’t even talk to us. I love that with Kanye we have that friendship. Because when you’re with one of us you’re with all of us.”
Seems like Mr. West fits in nicely with the family.
On trouble conceiving a child she says, “I just wanted to be, ‘Hey, let’s have a baby,’ [with husband Lamar Odom] and we would just have one. Kourtney did. And I wish that was the way for me. But it won’t be. I’ll have to take hormones. I do want to have a baby, but I don’t feel the urgency to have one this very moment.”
On her mom, Kris Jenner, being the family’s momager and never becoming one:
“I’d never manage my kids. We gang up on Mom and that has to be so hard. Now I’m getting older I feel sorry for her rather than resent her. “[Once my mom told me] I was gaining weight, but she was talking to me as a manager, like I was ruining a brand deal. It’s hard to understand that and it’s more hurtful when it’s coming from my mom.”
Our favorite Kardashian brunette, Mrs. Khloe Kardashian-Odom, is gracing the cover of the latest Cosmopolitan UK magazine issue and we think she looks just dashing!
Upon news she’s the magazine’s latest cover girl Khloe tweeted, “Incredibly honored to be on the cover of Cosmo UK! I still feel like I’m dreaming!! Thank you…”
Are we loving Khloe of the cover?
Find out more about the latest issue when you head over to Cosmopolitan UK. The June issue hits stores tomorrow, May 2nd.
Gwyneth Paltrow is a smoker guys. During her recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar to discuss her upcoming film, ‘Iron Man 3′, among other things the actress reveals she needs to light up every now and then — something she usually does on a weekly basis.
On her guilty pleasure Paltrow says, “My one light American Spirit that I smoke once a week, on Saturday night.”
The mother of two and wife to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin also discusses how she’s changed over the years. Paltrow, who turned 40 last fall, speaks on that turning point in her life. “I’m at quite a pivotal point: Do I want to go back more into films? Do I want another child? Do I want to move back to the States? … You can call me a lot of things, but you can’t call me complacent,” she says.
On 10 Relationship With Husband Chris Martin:
“We are growing into very similar people. It’s cool, it’s good. It’s not always easy, though!”
On Having Another Baby
“There are some films that I want to do, and I love my business and I want to expand that a lot. We’ll sort of see. I mean, if I want to have another kid, I gotta kind of get on it. But then you see a baby and you smell a baby and you’re like, ‘Yep, I do.’ I don’t know. It’s a very big decision, so we’ll see. Anyway, I’m not doing it this month!”
Always the main attraction, Beyonce makes her debut on the cover of Vogue UK. For the magazine’s May feature she discusses the courage motherhood gave her, naming her upcoming world tour, “The Mrs.Carter” show, and the toll performing takes on her body. She evens gets a little political sharing her views on equal rights for women.
On Naming Upcoming World Tours The “Mrs. Carter” Show
“I feel like Mrs Carter is who I am, but more bold and more fearless than I’ve ever been. It comes from knowing my purpose and really meeting myself once I saw my child. I was like, ‘OK, this is what you were born to do’. The purpose of my body became completely different.”
