Well, this is refreshing! VH1′s ‘Single Ladies‘ has finally found their replacement for actress Stacey Dash! The new addition to the show will be Denise Vasi. Vasi is better known for her role on former soap ‘All My Children’. Great timing since the show has ended its 31 years run on ABC this past September.
Following the departure of Valerie (Dash), Vasi will play Raquel, a savvy business woman from a prominent southern family who’ll join Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy) and April (Charity Shea) on their quest for true love and passion.
It had been rumored, pretty much from the start, that Stacey Dash would not be a permanent fixture on the “Single Ladies” series. There were reports of Dash’s diva like behavior and inability to get along with co-star Lisa Raye. However, producers of the hit VH1 series and Raye herself chimed in to dispute those claims. And now for the first time the actress has decided to address the issue. In an official statement via Global Grind Dash was quoted as saying,
“I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.”
Rapper The Game and actress Stacey Dash are currently shooting a movie titled House Arrest. Yesterday, they were spotted on location in Hollywood while filming a few scenes. As the plot goes, a beautiful high maintenance women falls for a schemer and hustler. Yawn! Why do I think I’ve seen this before.
