Rick Ross Loses Shoe Deal with Reebok Over Controversial Rape Lyrics

Rick Ross Suffers Seizure

Earlier today Reebok announced that they would no longer be working with Rick Ross  after much debate over his verse in rap song, “U.O.E.N.O.” The controversial lyric goes as followed, “Put molly all in her champagne…she ain’t even know it.  I took her home and I enjoyed that…she ain’t even know it.” Molly is a slang term for the drug MDMA. Since the song hit airwaves in January, Ross has been the topic of many discussions. Women activists and rape survivors demanded that the song be taken off air and that Reebok cancelled their lucrative deal with the rapper.

While some felt that the lyrics were abrasive, they also felt like they had to defend Ross’ freedom of speech. Ross took to Twitter and apologized for the lyric tweeting, “I dont condone rape. Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape. #BOSS.” Reebok stated that they do not believe that Ross condones sexual misconduct, but they do not like how he has not fully addressed the issue and taken responsibility for his part.

Guess the Teflon Don ain’t so tough after all. Rick Ross decided to cancel his North Carolina shows after receiving death threats.

Ross, reacting to a YouTube video posted by Gangster Disciples, decided it wouldn’t be worth it to take the stage and has even taken the steps towards refunding money for fans that have already purchased tickets.

According to the video, Gangster Disciples (a gang) didn’t like that Ross shouted out their mob boss in a “dishonorable fashion” in the lyrics to one of his songs on the ‘Black Bar Mitzvah’ mixtape he released a few months ago. They also claim they dont like Rozay’s use of the Star of David that the gang uses as a symbol.

Guess, it wouldn’t be Hip Hop without a battle right?! News broke late Saturday night that a fight broke out during the pre-taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards Show in Atlanta earlier in the day. the fight involved rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy. The worst part, shots were reportedly fired!

But why? What could these two be fighting over? The two rappers have reportedly had beef for quite some time now.

Here’s an official statement released by the Atlanta Police Department.

“Shortly after 7:15 pm Saturday, a fight broke out in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center (where the BET Awards were being taped) between two groups. Atlanta Police Department officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used OC spray in the process. Individuals fled the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries. Reports of shots fired appear to be untrue.”

The sexiness that is Rick Ross finally admits to being a corrections officer. A few years back nemesis 50 cent outed the “gangsta” rapper for lying about his past and wanting to have a tougher appeal. Well, finally Rick Ross has decided to fess up on his correctional past.

He admits he began working as a corrections officer when his best-friend was sentenced to 10 years for trafficking cocaine and heroin. “This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude. Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted.

“My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too . . . He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a f–king corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.”
