(Black PR Wire) The African American buying power is estimated to reach $1 trillion by 2015 according to the “The State of the African-American Consumer Report,” which was recently released, in collaboration with Nielsen, a research firm, and the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA),trade association for more than 200 black community newspapers across the U.S.
The growing economic potential presents an opportunity for Fortune 500 companies to examine and further understand this important, flourishing market segment. And when consumers are more aware of their buying power, it can help them make informed decisions about the companies they want to support.
CNN reports, a 7.2 earthquake rocked eastern Turkey at approximately 1:41pm Sunday. It is the most powerful earthquake to hit the region since the 1999′s 7.6 quake that claimed approximately 17,000 lives.
At least seven aftershocks have been reported and citizens are now rummaging through rubble, from collapsed buildings, using flashlights and shovels for any signs of life. At the moment, it is too early to estimate how many lives have been lost.
Rescue missions are currently underway for any survivors who fell victim to the 25 buildings said to have collapse during the quake.
Animal Planet’s “My Extreme Animal Phobia” featured a 40-year old man who is terrified of pitt bulls, even the baby ones.
The irony here, he could give a wrestle mania athlete a run for there money. His big statue doesn’t help him get over his fear brought on by a childhood traumatic experience. He even bursts into tears when a small pitbull comes running in the park.
I know this isn’t meant to be funny but I found it comical nonetheless. Watch clip below.
The Lionsgate film, based on Perry’s stage play, tells the story of an accountant and his wife — a marriage counselor whose marriage starts to fall apart once his parents moves in. is great at dispensing advice, but makes some seriously bad mistakes in her own marriage.
The recently married reality TV star turned fashionista will play the counselor’s friend and co-worker, Ava, who helps the counselor cope with life and get a makeover.
I see they’ve given her a role that’s fitting. Question, can she even act?
How heartbreaking is this! An elderly couple who were married for 72 yrs died while holding hands.
The Iowa couple, Gordon, 94, and Norma Yeager, 90, died 70 minutes apart at a Des Moines hospital following a car accident that also injured another couple.
Shortly after leaving their home, at approximately 8 a.m on Oct. 12, at the intersection of Highway 30 and Jessup Avenue, Gordon pulled “away from the stop sign and failed to yield to a westbound vehicle,” according to Sgt. Joel Ehler of the Iowa State Patrol.
The driver of the other car, Charles Clapsaddle, 64, of Marshalltown, was unable to stop to avoid a collision, Ehler added.
“They’re very old-fashioned. They believed in marriage ’til death do you part,” Dennis Yeager, the son of Gordon and Norma Yeager, told KCCI.com.
It took approximately 6 months, perhaps just as long to announce their pregnancy, but Nick and Mariah have FINALLY debuted their twins Moroccan and Monroe to the world.
In an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters on’20/20′ last night, the celebrity parents revealed the difficult pregnancy Carey encountered and how having their twins have changed their lives.
“I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” Carey said. “Carrying two babies. Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through, because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”
“I had serious back problems,” she said. “I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to walk properly again. It was a huge strain.”
When asked about what the twins have brought to their family Nick added,
“My family gives me everything. Unconditional love means…the world to me. I mean, it’s completion.”
