Wednesday night’s proceedings were nerve racking , to say the least.
Last night, America and the rest of the world watched while the U.S. Supreme Court decided the fate of Troy Anthony Davis.
The Georgia State inmate sentenced for a 7pm execution was left in limbo after the Supreme Court placed a paused on the proceedings at the 11th hour. At approximately 6:30pm the court placed a hold on the Georgia execution to review Davis’ case after millions of people advocated on his behalf.
Davis’ lawyers sent paper work to Congress on Tuesday after the Georgia Board of Pardons denied him clemency. They argued, the core evidence used to prosecute Davis had come under questioning and leaves too much doubt to have warranted a guilty verdict, nonetheless, a death sentence.
The Supreme Court took nearly 4 hours to decide the fate of Davis. Around 10pm, at least 100 law enforcement officers were called to the prison where hundreds of supporters gathered waiting for the ultimate decision. Although, initially elated by the court’s halt on the proceedings the crowd were devasted once news broke (approximately 10:20pm) that Davis’ life would not be saved.
Timbaland is back, along with rapper Pitbull with “Pass At Me”. The song is the debut single for forthcoming album ‘Shock Value III’. Check it out.
Scheduled to be executed at 7pm tonight, September 21, 2011, Troy Davis has released his last thoughts and feelings in a letter to the public. Here’s what he had to say.
I want to thank all of you for your efforts and dedication to Human Rights and Human Kindness, in the past year I have experienced such emotion, joy, sadness and never ending faith. It is because of all of you that I am alive today, as I look at my sister Martina I am marveled by the love she has for me and of course I worry about her and her health, but as she tells me she is the eldest and she will not back down from this fight to save my life and prove to the world that I am innocent of this terrible crime.
As I look at my mail from across the globe, from places I have never ever dreamed I would know about and people speaking languages and expressing cultures and religions I could only hope to one day see first hand. I am humbled by the emotion that fills my heart with overwhelming, overflowing Joy. I can’t even explain the insurgence of emotion I feel when I try to express the strength I draw from you all, it compounds my faith and it shows me yet again that this is not a case about the death penalty, this is not a case about Troy Davis, this is a case about Justice and the Human Spirit to see Justice prevail.

For most men, spending a day shopping for clothes is akin to going to the orthodontist for a root canal; necessary, but extraordinarily painful. Think about it: When was the last time you actually enjoyed spending more than, say, a half hour in a department store, even when you’re looking for something you really want? Luckily, you no longer have to.
There’s never been a better time for a man to shop online. In the past, the Internet has been something of a black hole for fashion-conscious men in search of a satisfying click-and-buy experience. But a whole new generation of curated shopping sites — a concept that has been around for women since practically the dawn of the Web — is about to change all of that.
These new, just-for-men destinations not only stock the best designer gear, but also style outfits for you, fit them to your shape and even let you know when they’re going on sale. That means you’re always about five minutes away from a slick new wardrobe — without ever having to set foot in a store. How does that sound?
Here are some of the more impressive men’s-only shopping sites we’ve found:
On last night’s first elimination show of ‘Dancing With The Stars’, Season 13, Ron Artest also known as “Metta World Peace” got the ax!
The professional basketball player only garnered 14 points out of a possible 30 from judges with a not so smooth cha-cha. The athlete along with partner Peta Murgatroyd received the lowest overall score by the judges of voters around the country.
Surprisingly Chaz Bono, was saved! Perhaps, all the controversy surrounding the transgendered man garnered supporters. Will be interesting to see just how far Chaz goes.
Nancy Grace and Rob Kardashian rounded out the bottom three.
The 1989 murder case surrounding Georgia state inmate Troy Davis has the nation in a frenzy. On Tuesday, following hours of testimony and seven of the nine witnesses recanting their original statements the previous day, the Georgia Board of Pardons has denied clemency for Davis. He is scheduled to die by lethal injection tonight, Wednesday, September 21st.
In 1991 Davis shot a man, Michael Cooper, wounding him in the face. He then went to a nearby convenience store, where he pistol-whipped a homeless man, Larry Young, who’d just bought a beer, according to accounts of the case.
According to prosecutors, off duty officer Mark MacPhail rushed to the scene to help, but wound up being shot three times by Davis. They said Davis shot the officer once in the face as he stood over him.
A jury convicted Davis on two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of possessing a firearm during a crime, obstructing a law enforcement officer and murder. The assault and murder of officer MacPhail resulted in the death sentence.

The “Closer” singer (real name: Shaffer Chimere Smith) and his longtime girlfriend, Atlanta boutique owner Monyetta Shaw, are engaged and expecting their second child together, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
Ne-Yo, 31, became a first-time dad in November 2010, when Shaw gave birth to daughter Madilyn Grace.
According to a source, baby number two is due very soon — in October.
Well how did he hide that for 8 months?! I wonder if the baby will share the singer’s birthday. Ne-Yo will turn 32 on October 18th.
Glad these two are now getting married. Congrats to the happy couple!
