This shouldn’t be much of a surprise, but talk show maven, Oprah Winfrey has snagged the first interview with NBA player Jason Collins since his announcement he was a gay black man. In fact, Collins is the first athlete to come out openly in a major sport.
Winfrey shared the above photo on social media adding, “2 of the nicest, smartest and tallest (7ft) guys I’ve ever met @jasoncollins34 and his twin Jarron. #nextchapter this Sunday 7:30pm”
The interview should be interesting considering Collins does have a twin, Jarron Collins (photoed far left), who we’re sure has since been asked if he’s gay as well. We’re also curious to find out, although he has many supporters, just how has Collins handled the backlash since coming out. In fact, his ex-fiancee Carolyn Moos has gone on to discuss not knowing Collins had been gay prior to his announcement last week. She now believes he wasted eight years of her life while they had been together. It’s also reported the athlete has since faced death threats.
The interview airs Sunday night at 7pm on OWN.
