Madonna sure did not disappoint with her appearance at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Monday night.
Given the gala’s theme, ‘Punk Couture’, Madge got this one right. The layered plaid and spiked ensemble was the epitome of fashionable with an edge. And look at those legs! Her choice of wearing pink pumps were so right on.
This is a bold look but it works! And her dark bob wig can sure give Anna Wintour a run for her money. We love it!
Celebrities come together for the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The GLAAD Media Awards celebrate outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and their allies on TV, in film, and in the news. In attendance were several celebrities, including Anderson Cooper, Snooki, who shows off her 42lbs weight loss, JWOWW, and even Mama June from “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” who also shows off her 100lbs weight loss! Madonna was also in attendance wearing a boy scout uniform.
The pop icon also presented Anderson Cooper with the Vito Russo Award, she explained her Boys Scouts attire saying, “I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn’t let me join. I think that’s f–ked up. I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent. I have a very good sense of direction. I can rescue kittens from trees. Listen, I wanna do for the community. But most importantly, I know how to scout for boys. So I think that I should be allowed to be a Boy Scout and I think they should change their stupid rules.”
After her statement she then planted a huge kiss on Anderson Cooper! The Vito Russo Award is given to one who is an openly LGBT member in the media and promotes equality. Here are a few pics from Sunday night’s event.
During her New York City Madison Square Garden concert Madonna invited new pop sensation Psy to join her performing his single “Gangnam Style”. Even at 57 Madonna’s got moves like Jagger! Check it out below.
What a way to show her support. Madonna revealed an Obama tattoo on her lower back during her “MDNA” concert at Yankee Stadium in New York City, Thursday night. The same night President Obama delivered his speech at the Democratic National Convention. Guess we know who she’ll be voting for in the presidential campaign this year.
Prior to revealing her new tat Madonna stated, “Tonight I’m not going to show my a**,” she said, unveiling the Obama tattoo. “I’m going to show my feelings. How’s that for living dangerously?”
Good thing the tat is just a temporary. Check out the video below.
Madonna’s ‘MDNA’ album has sold 359,000 copies in its first week, making it the eighth time she has topped the Billboard 200 album charts.
Although reviews were mixed, in it’s debut ‘MDNA’ reached No.1 on iTunes in 40 countries. Surprising considering the album’s debut single, “Give Me All Your Luvin’” only peaked number 37 on the charts back in February.
‘MDNA’‘ has also topped the UK charts this week, making her the most successful solo artist ever in UK album charts – one album ahead of Elvis Presley’s record of 11 chart-topping albums.
Despite her many critics, looks like Madge still has that it factor! And, she certainly has her loyal fans who are relentless to say the least. Congrats Madonna.
Madonna spoke for the first time on her reaction to fellow artist M.I.A giving the middle finger during her Super Bowl halftime show.
During her Friday morning interview with Ryan Seacrest‘s KIIS-FM radio show, she says, “I didn’t know about it until I left. I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it,” she said. She found out in the elevator on the way out of the venue.
“I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative. It’s one of the those things, it’s such a teenager, irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.”
Madonna tapped Givenchy to design her elaborate costumes she wore during the 2012 46th Super Bowl Half time show. It turned out to be a great choice by the way. The 53 year old “material girl” (can we still call her that?) looked fantastic!
What I loved the most were her thigh high 6 inch black boots. The singer even risked falling during the show just to wear them. The boots were a pair of stretch leather thigh highs, with metal buckle closures. They were personalized with 2 metal crowns and a leather M. I can only imagine just how much Madonna paid for them. But not to worry.
Madonna‘s still got it! Queen Madge proved just why she has reigned for nearly three decades in the entertainment industry, pulling off a great halftime show during Sunday night’s 46th NFL Super Bowl, The New York Giants vs. The New England Patriots.
Madonna performed new single“Give Me All Your Luvin’”, for the first time, and brought along rappers Nicki Minaj and M.I.A who are also featured on the track. She joined forces with LMFAO with a remix of the duo’s hit ‘Party Rock Anthem’ and ‘I’m Sexy And I Know It’. She also performed classics such as ‘Vogue’, ‘Music’, and a medley of ‘Open Your Heart’ and ‘Express Yourself’, ‘Like a Prayer’ joined in by Cee-Lo.
Happy 53rd birthday Madonna! The pop icon was spotted canoodling with her 24 year old boyfriend, Brahim Zaibat, in the Hamptons this past weekend, reports People.com. I guess, Madonna decided on something more low key to celebrate her birthday.
Zaibat is seen in the above photo with the star and her two young children arriving in London.
Which other stars share a birthday with the “material girl”?
Last night, all the major networks aired the Hope For Haiti Now Telethon put together by actor George Clooney, who’ve already donated $1 million of his own money to aid in Haiti’s relief.
