LL Cool J & Brad Paisley Stir Controversy With New Single “Accidental Racist” (Video)

Rapper LL Cool J and country singer Brad Paisley have stirred up some controversy with new single “Accidental Racist”.

Following the song’s release on Monday it immediately caught flack for its lyrics about race. The two musician do agree that the national debate sparked by their song is exactly what they wanted to happen.

“Accidental Racist”, featured on Paisley’s latest album, “Wheelhouse”, discusses how African Americans that grew up like LL Cool J, who grew up in New York City, view Southerners, like Paisley, a native of West Virginia, and vice versa.

The duo visited ‘Good Morning America’ Wednesday morning to shed some light on the song and the backlash its caused.

“I’m not really sure we’re going to find any answers but it was the idea that we were asking the question,” Paisley stated during his interview on “Good Morning America.”

The 2013 Grammy Award Nominees Announced, Frank Ocean & The Throne (Jay Z, Kanye West) Lead With Six Nominations

Taylor Swift and LL Cool J were on hand to announce the nominees for the 2013 Grammy Awards during Wednesday night awards announcement special. The GRAMMY Nominations Live Concert was held at the Bridgestone Arena  in Nashville, Tennessee. Frank Ocean and The Throne (Jay Z & Kanye West) lead with six nominations they tie with Mumford & Son, Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and indie group Fun for six nominations. Miguel nabbed five nominations with his critically acclaimed album ‘Adorned’, and Nas received four noms for ‘Life Is Good’. Although the ladies didn’t fair well this go around, Rihanna and Janelle Monae were able to capture three nominations each.

Other nominees included, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Estelle, Elle Varner, Tamia, Tyrese, Anthony Hamilton, SWV, R. Kelly, and Luke James in the R&B category while Drake, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, and Lupe Fiasco among the rappers.

LL Cool Jmay have just layed the smack down on a home invader but let’s not forget he’s still the man the ladies love. Even at 44, LL is still sexy. Let’s return back to 1996 when Mr. Cool J showed up how he liked to “do it”. “Doin It” was from LL’s sixth studio album, ‘Mr. Smith’. It garnered success when it reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Billboard charts. Let’s rehash, shall we? Enjoy.

LL Cool J Fights Home Invader!

Don’t mess with Mr. LL Cool J.The homeless intruder who broke into his Blairwood Drive, California home is living proof of that. The “Mama Said Knock You Out” rapper confronted the intruder, just after 1am Wednesday morning, and immediately got into a scuffle upon discovering the break in.

One of the rapper’s daughters then called 911 while her dad restrained the burglar until cops arrived. The intruder, 56 year old Jonathan Kirby, reportedly suffered a broken nose and jaw.

Kirby has since been charged with burglary. He may also face battery charges. Reports suggest he also has a long criminal history.

LL Cool J To Host 54th Annual Grammy Awards

LL Cool J was just announced as this year’s 54th Annual Grammy Awards host! This is great news for the rapper turned actor, who just celebrated his 44th birthday on January 14th, by the way. In his own successful music career, he is also a two time Grammy award recipient.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night,” said LL Cool J. “I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it’s gonna be a great night!”

LL has hosted “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night” since its inception in December 2008.

Can’t wait to see how good of a host he’ll be come music’s biggest night.
