Jazmine Sullivan Taking A Break From Music?

Jazmine Sullivan via twitter that she will be taking a break from music, saying  it [music] is no longer fun. She tweeted,

I’m making an official announcement that I am taking a break from music. I’m trying to figure out who I am… with out a mic, paper or pen. I promised myself when it wasn’t fun anymore I wouldn’t do it, and here I am. I’m not saying I won’t ever sing again in my life because I don’t believe that. But in this moment…right now….I got some things to figure out.

I love you all and appreciate u soooo much. You have no idea how much you’ve inspired me and fed my ego. But the truth is that I have to believe in me whether you all do or not and that’s what I’m looking for. That belief in myself. Me. I. I love us. Thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. Let us continue.

Her tweets were later removed and no official statement has since been announced by herself or her label, J Records.
I’m hoping this isn’t true. She is such a talented young lady, who writes her own music, with so much to offer in today’s generic music industry.

Speaking of Lauryn Hill, Ms Jazmine Sullivan’s raspy yet soulful voice reminds me a little of Lauryn in her ‘Miseducation’ days. This young lady is surely going places. The question is, are we prepared for the ride?

As part of Black Gay Pride celebration, Ms. Sullivan was on hand to perform at Mansion Elan Nightclub.
She performed hits including ‘Bust Your Windows’, ‘Lions, Tigers & Bears”‘ as well as current single, ‘Holding You Down’.

Music Videos: The Dream Feat. Mariah Carey, Jazmine Sullivan, & Keri Hilson

Mariah Carey and The Dream debut their latest video together. The two collaborated on The Dreams’ single “My Love”.

Jazmine Sullivan has done it again, with her soulful and heart felt songs, filled with raw emotions. While we love them they remind us of our shortcomings in love. I’m sure this will be another hit in Jazmine land. Enjoy.

Keri Hilson is definitely making her mark, her debut album is yet to be released but she stirred up enough in the media to keep her name relevant. However, I have to say that I do believe that there is more to come from Ms. Keri. She is one of the best female song writers in the industry, now it’s time for her to take her place in the spotlight. She may actually have what it takes.

Jazmine Sullivan, Actress In The Making?!

5 time grammy nominee Jazmine Sullivan didn’t nab any awards at the Grammys earlier this month but she did nab a movie role. She’ll play a performer in director Anthony Heminway’s Red Tails. “I play a singer who entertains soldiers,” says Sullivan. “I’m really just entertainment for them, but I kind of get a little relationship going with one of them. So that’s very exciting.” “I used to act when I was younger, in little plays,” adds Sullivan, who attended Philadelphia’s Creative and Performing Arts high school.
Alongside Jazmine in the upcoming film? Current touring partner, Ne-Yo. The movie begins shooting in April.
