During his interview with Tavis Smiley, for the first time, Seal addresses the announcement of his pending divorce. Although he was there to promote his latest album, ‘Soul 2′, in wake of his separation, he decided to clear the air about his feelings for wife Heidi Klum.

Here’s a bit of what he had to say.

“We have a tremendous amount of love and respect for each other and of course our children are our first priority and I think we pretty much said everything that we needed to say in the statement that we released but how does one stay focus? Just because you decide to separate I don’t think you all of a sudden stop loving each other, I don’t think you all of a sudden stop becoming friends, especially, when there are other things to take into consideration like family. And so, to be honest, it’s not really that difficult and it’s not really that much of an issue. What one has to do in this situation is to remain civil, and to retain one’s dignity, to be professional, and to understand that we are not the only people on this planet that are going through this.It is just unfortunate a chapter of life.”

On whether they’ll l have an ugly breakup Seal went on to say, “We’re just not those types of people and we never have been.”

Many wondered if the rumors that Heidi Klum and Seal were headed for divorce were true, and it seems, they are. The couple have released an official statement via People to confirm their separation.

The statement reads,

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

“We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

Heidi and Seal are parents to four children, Henry Günther, 6, and Johan Riley, 5, daughter, Lou Soulula, 2, and daughter Leni, 7, from Klum’s previous relationship. Seal legally adopted the child in 2005.

We wish them well in this difficult time.

Did anyone see this coming? Heidi Klum is expected to file for divorce from husband of 6 years, Seal. The couple, who’ve been looked at as one of Hollywood’s most happy, in love and stable unions, is not so happy, in love or stable. Who knew?

Private eye, TMZ, has learned, Heidi is expected to file for divorce sometime early next week, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

The German model and British singer began dating in 2004 and were married May 10th, 2005 . The two, even began renewing their vows each year as a symbol of their undying love for one another. They became just as known for their annual Halloween bash many celebs flock to each year.

Together, the couple have sons – Henry Günther, 6, and Johan Riley, 5, daughter, Lou Soulula, 2, and raise daughter Leni, 7, from Klum’s prior relationship with Flavio Briatore.

Heidi and Seal have yet to deny or confirm the allegations.
