You don’t have to dress as if you’re preparing to walk down the runway of a Paris fashion show but you should want to dress to impress, at least, for yourself. Looking good makes you feel good, so why not make the extra effort in updating your wardrobe. Despite what you may think, staying atop the trends doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank.
Here are 5 signs your wardrobe needs an upgrade.
- Your clothes no longer fits: If your clothes are a bit too tight or loosely fit you need a wardrobe adjustment. You may have gained a bit of weight, loss some or simply do not know your size. Here’s a clue, some form of your flesh is either hanging out or is suffocating beneath your under carriage.
- Your clothes are worn: Having holey attire or ones that are washed out is a clear sign for an update. I know, that’s your favorite sweater and the dress you love so much. Trust me, fashion comes full circle. You’ll be able to get another just like it. If this is you, your closet is beyond ready for an update.
- Your closet is outdated: Dressing like your still a teenager is a never a good thing, even if you still look like one. You’re only as young as you feel right, but there’s no need to rehash your hey days back in 1986 with an entire wardrobe filled with tie dye and baby doll shirts.
- People often think you’re headed for an audition at the circus: You don’t ever want to be mistaken for a clown. Well, at least, I hope not. I know you think your style is just a bit eccentric and your creating trends instead of following them but honestly do yourself a favor, stop it! Remember, less is more. Your fashion should never scream “desperation for attention.”
- You have the same three outfits on heavy rotation: Okay, I know you’re on a tight budget but wearing the same outfit twice in one week may be a clear sign your wardrobe is lacking in variety. Don’t have time? Staying fashionable is just another expense you can’t afford at the moment? Here’s a tip, shopping online eliminates the time spent traveling to your local shopping center and may even offer you the best deals and discounts available. Signing up for your favorite brand’s newsletter could put you at an advantage when they’ve restocked on items you may want. You may even win an item in a free giveaway contest!
A very pregnant Kourtney Kardashian was spotted looking fabulous in red while promoting the release of the Nokia Lumia 900 at Bryant Park in New York City Monday Afternoon, April 9, 2012. The mom to be wore a flowing red dress called the ‘Great Gatsby’ with a very high pair of black suede Christian Louboutin heels.
Emily Blunt was spotted wearing a very yellow Elie Saab 3/4 sleeve cocktail dress arriving at a private dinner in honor of the designer in New York City last Thursday. The hue of the color blends very nicely on her pale skin. With just the right amount of makeup (not much at all) the red lipstick adds a nice touch. She also paired the outfit with a yellow Sergio Rossi ‘Ophidia’ embellished sandals making it the perfect finish.
What do you think of Emily’s Elie Saab Dress?
Teyana Taylor is loving her custom made top. That’s according to a message she tweeted to half a million followers.
She wrote, “I love my @chichi_ibekwe coustom made top!! http://instagr.am/p/JJVzKMosPC/” with the attached photo showing off her custom made top from an up and coming designer.
She then revealed the full outfit which included a bondage knee length skirt with the design pattern imprinted along the sides.
Looking good Teyana. Want to know where you can get an outfit like this?
Our look of the day goes to Rosci Diaz, of BET’s 106 & Park’. She wore a white cut out 3/4 sleeve blouse with theory jeans shorts from J brand jeans and a pair of Louboutin 20th anniversary red and python booties on Friday night’s episode. Doesn’t she look fabulous?

Remember, I’ve told you tangerine is the color for the season, and, it comes in many different shades, which can give you more options for an outfit. Here’s one way to stay atop the trends and look your Easter Sunday best. A white blazer is a great finish for this plain shift dress from TopShop. This shade of tangerine is also among the long list of pastel colors great for the season with a pair of white pumps to top off your Easter Sunday best.
On another note, you can opt for another trend popular around this time of year, and that is, floral patterns. Keeping it simple is key here. For example, this yellow floral patch dress has all the pattern you’ll need to pull off this look. You can also opt for a lace material, like the one below, made with a floral pattern design.
Like mentioned above, a blazer is the perfect finish for a sleeve less dress. It adds sophistication while dressing up your outfit. TopShop has great selections like these pleated tuck neck dresses, which comes in a variety of colors. My advise, you can’t go wrong with a pastel colors like the shift pink dress in our template below. They’re typically the most common shades worn around this time of year and so is the case for Easter. Or if you’re feeling daring, going against the grain, opt for money green. It may not be the color of the season but pleated dresses are in, you’ll still be keeping up with the trends!
Happy Easter everyone and stay fashionable!
Is it me or has Christina Milian stepped it up in the fashion department? We’re loving some of her more recent looks and her body looks even better after baby, don’t you think?
The mom to 2 year old daughter Violet was recently spotted out and about Hollywood looking fabulous!
Here she is on her way to dine with friends at Katsuya restaurant in Hollywood over the weekend.
A few days prior, Milian was spotted heading to lunch at Le Petit Four restaurant at Sunset Plaza in LA, a grey embezzled alter top, showing off her mid-riff, with matching hot pink skinny jeans and heels.
Not only was she named ‘Entertainer of the Year’ but Taylor Swift looked stunning on this year’s ACM Awards red carpet.
What what did she wear? Taylor kept things simple, yet stunning, in a white J. Mendel cut-out gown, a pair of matching Louboutins and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Are you loving her look?
And that would be tangerine…the official Spring color this year. Yes, you read that correctly, tangerine. A bright and vibrant color not many can wear well, however. Here are a few tips on how to accessorize your wardrobe without going tangerine crazy.
Actually neon colors are back in season this year and this just happens to be the most popular one at the moment.
Because this color is so vibrant and bold you don’t have to do too much to wear it well. If you want to wear a blazer of this shade, a simple white tank and dark bottom is all you’ll need to pull it off. You can also opt for a neutral color like beige or white, white top and bottom, and then top off your outfit with a pair of matching pumps, or you can play it safe with a black base color (top and bottom). Take a look at how we demonstrated in the template above.
On another note, if you’re feeling bold, you can compliment this shade with another vibrant color. Yellow is complimentary color, It’s a warm tone, similar to that of most orange shades. These colors go well together. You can also add a base color like purple to enhance your look. A mixture of these colors are great because they enhance but won’t over shadow each other. Take a look at our example above.
And there you have it! Before you know it, you’ll be keeping up with the latest trends with little effort.
Bria Murphy and younger sister Shayne Murphy were spotted out and about headed to a Beverly Hills nail salon this past weekend. Although the ladies looked beautiful, it was Bria’s Ash Bowie Wedge Trainers that caught the eye of some of our readers. She also wore skinny blue jeans, and a cropped grey sweatshirt.
I must admit they’re really cute. Now here’s where you can get them and how much you may have to shell out
Every season, some fashion trend, we thought we had left behind decades ago, make a comeback. As with clothing, the same can be said with shoes. Here are four new shoe trends this Spring.
Neon Colors – Bright and colorful neon colored sandals are the rave right now. However, if you opt to wear an eye popping attention grabbing shoe, please opt for a more subdued color when choosing your outfit for the day. The shoe, alone, will be speaking volumes the rest of your attire don’t have to either.
Print Wedges – Last Spring floral print clothing were all the rave. This year the shoes are taking over. If this is a trend you’ll happily indulge in, make sure to choose just one color to base your attire around. There’s no need to over emphasize with the color schemes and floral prints here.
Metallics – Metallic shoes are in! Metallics can be fun because you can wear them with almost anything. Unless, of course, they aren’t a neutral color like the blue in our template above. Dress them up, dress them down, the options are limitless. But with most things, do not over do it!
Studded Booties – Not sure how I feel about this trend but do us and yourself a favor, if your shoes are studded, the rest of your outfit don’t have to be either.

She wore a blue Victoria Beckham sleek navy cotton-blend dress with a v-neckline and three-quarter sleeves. She paired her dress with black and navy glitter embroided Nicholas Kirkwood platform sandals, Lorraine Schwartz earrings, a Lanvin necklace and a grey clutch.
