Estelle’s Exclusive Interview With Singersroom.com, Speaks Heartache & Finding Love

R&B singer Estelle talks with Singersroom.com about having her heart broken, how she gets over a breakup, what she looks for in a partner and much more.

On Her New Album
The first single. “Thank You” off Estelle’s latest album, ‘All of Me’, reveals a more personal side of the artist where she has suffered from heart ache. She says, “I was about people feeling where I’m coming from and I didn’t feel crazy writing these records. So for me it’s very real. Every single song is about something or somebody or some period that I’ve been through.

On Dealing With Heartbreaks
“I write songs about it and I sing them…I’m not one of these girls that wants to sit there and honestly wallow in it or get really teary eyed.”

Being Angry
“I don’t throw pots. I have to buy them so I try not to break them; I grew up in the hood.”

Finding a Partner
“I did the whole ‘OK he’s struggling, he’s trying something, I’m gonna support him;’ doesn’t work…We should be looking for somebody that have equally what we have.”

Estelle Covers PYNK Magazine

UK singer/songwriter, Estelle recently sat down with PYNK magazine to discuss her hiatus from music, heartbreak, and the healing process.

Here’s a bit of what she had to say.

On refocusing her life and career:
“I got back on the same page with my head and my heart. I just didn’t enjoy
the music anymore so I turned everything around and started really paying
attention to myself instead of listening to what everyone else was telling
me [the album] should be. It just got real ridiculous for a while.”

On pushing past the pain:
“Every time I’d go in and record something that was really emotionally
charged after one of these changing moments — those are the records that
everybody loved. So I was like, ‘You might want to keep doing that. It’s
going to hurt you but just keep going.’ And I did. And it hurt like hell.
And a lot of people were probably hurt in the process, but oh well. They
probably needed to go anyway. These were things that went with the process
of me having to change my life around for the better. I definitely went
through it.” _______READMORE
