Bobby Brown must be surrounded by guardian angels. After his third DUI charge and a 55 days sentence, he was freed after only nine hours behind bars.
According to TMZ, “Brown checked into L.A. County Jail at 9:58 AM Wednesday. He was released at 6:58 PM. Interesting … an L.A. County Sheriff’s spokesperson said just days ago Brown would serve 9 days … but the jails are bursting at the seams and this is what happens … Brown was arrested in October after driving erratically on an L.A. street. He pled no contest to DUI and driving on a suspended license. It was his second DUI arrest in 7 months.”
Following his release, Bobby has since been placed under house arrest and has to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet for just 8 days. He will remain on 4 years probation and has to attend alcohol education classes for 18 months.
Bobby Brown was not let off the hook this time. He has just gotten a 55 days sentence to an LA County jail for his drunk driving arrest back in October. Brown had been driving under the influence with a suspended license.
The singer was sentenced on Tuesday and also received four years of probation. Unfortunately Brown was already on probation following a previous drunk driving arrest.
He has also been ordered to attend and complete a treatment program for substance abuse for the next 18 months.
Bad news in the Brown camp. On Saturday, Bobby Brown‘s new wife, Alicia Etheredge, has been hospitalized following a seizure.
Etheredge reportedly suffered a seizure in the couple’s Kissimmee, FL hotel room while Bobby and his ‘New Edition’ band mates held a sound check at the Gaylord Palms Resort. She was then taken to a nearby hospital
Bobby also confirmed the news when he tweeted, “The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true. She is recovering and is in good spirits and doing well. Please keep my family in your prayers.”
Bobby Brown has reportedly checked himself in rehab for alcohol addiction.
A source close to the singer tells news site TMZ, “ [Bobby] decided that he needed help and wants to make the best out of the rest of his life for his children’s sake.”
It’s no secret Bobby has battled substance abuse for many years. Perhaps, the unfortunate passing of his ex, the late Whitney Houston who succumbed to her own substance abuse, has inspired him to make a change for the better.
Bobby Brown has finally married longtime girlfriend and mother to his youngest son, Alicia Etheredge. The ceremony was held Monday in Honolulu, HI following a performance with his ‘New Edition’ bandmates.
Although kids Landon, La’Princia and Bobby Jr. were all in attendance, Bobbi Kristina skipped out on the nuptials. She was actually spotted filming for her new reality show ‘The Houston Family Chronicles’ alongside “step-brother” and boyfriend Nick Gordon as well as aunt Pat Johnson this past weekend.
That should be interesting enough to watch right? Especially with all the rumors and controversy surrounding her relationship with Gordon.
Bobby Brown recently released a song he’s dedicated to his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston, titled “Don’t Let Me Die”. Now he’s filmed what looks like a home made video for the song. The song is actually really good and it songs like Bobby may have gotten his voice back, not the raspy and worn vocals we’ve become accustomed to in recent years. The single will be on Brown’s first studio album in fifteen years, ‘The Masterpiece’. Check it out below.
In part 2 of Matt Lauer‘s exclusive interview with Bobby Brown, he dishes on what happened the day of Whitney’s funeral that caused him to leave early. He speaks on trying to contact Whitney’s mom Cissy Houston and how daughter Bobbi Kristina is coping. Three of his children from other relationship as well as his fiancee also joined in the interview to defend Brown’s image and provide their own thoughts on the matter.
On attending Whitney’s funeral but leaving after an altercation with security Bobby says, “They [Houston Family] definitely wanted me there. It wasn’t that I wasn’t invited, I was invited, so just coming to pay respects for my ex-wife they would not hold me from, that’s not the kind of family the Houston family is. Their a great family and I appreciate them very much.”
“Whoever the security was that was there asked that I have, what they called “my entourage”, which was my children, sit somewhere else. We had to sit apart and I was not willing to sit away from my children so after the third time them coming to me I felt a little disrespected by the security that was there. I decided that it would be best if I just left, I kissed the casket and me and my children left the building.”
On whether he feels Cissy Houston is not willing to speak to him after unsuccessfully being able to contact her, “I wouldn’t say that. I know she’s going through it deeply deeply going through it. She lost her only daughter. I’m here anytime she wants to talk. I’m here.”
Although he admits to having a cocktail from time to time, on being sober Brown says, ” I am 7 years clean from narcotics. I’m living the life I want to live.”
In Bobby Brown‘s first exclusive interview with Today’s Matt Lauer, Brown speaks on how he learned of Whitney’s death and being surprised that she was still struggling with sobriety. He says, “maybe I could have done something different”.
He went on to say how much he loved Whitney and appreciated the years they’ve spent together. “Our relationship was great,” he said. “I had 14 beautiful, beautiful years with that woman…I can honestly say I love that woman with, with everything that I am. And I believe she loved me the same way.”
On still loving Whitney he says, “I still love her today. Even though I’m getting married, some time soon. My fiance knows how I felt about that woman. My kids know how I feel how I felt about Whitney. It’s no secret. I was in love with her deeply.”
