Well, what a difference a few months make. Wasn’t it just last October when we spotted Nelly and Ashanti celebrating her birthday? Well, that may all be over. After dating for about 8 years the couple have called it quits! Although this isn’t the first time the couple have been rumored to have broken up, this time, Nelly has been spending quite some time with actress Tae Heckard. The lovely Ashanti celebrated her birthday over the weekend, turning 32 on October 13th. The singer was even thrown a surprise birthday dinner by rapper boyfriend Nelly and sister Shia.
They were joined by friends T.I. and Tiny to kick off the celebration.

Ashanti To Replace Fergie Of ‘The Black Eyed Peas’?
I’m not quite sure if the above photo is what started the rumor but Ashanti, seen with the guys of The Black Eyes Peas sands lead singer Fergie, is rumored to be the singer’s replacement.
The photo was taken about two weeks ago according to Ashanti’s tweeter updates. She wrote, “Had a blast with the peas last night! #Global #Philippines”. Not much information there.
Several weeks ago, The Peas announced they were taking a break and almost immediately rumors followed, suggesting Fergie wanted to leave the group.
Adding further feul to the gossip mills, earlier in the week when asked about focusing more of her time on her marriage, the singer told E! News, “I’m excited for that.” She also added, “I have my footwear collection and my fragrance, my husband (actor Josh Duhamel), and football and many other things in my head.” When asked about baby, she said, “Possibly!”
In a separate interview fellow band mate Taboo added, “We have to respect Ferg. Ferg is our sister. She definitely wants to have a family, and we’re happy for her.” He added, “You can’t not respect people’s wishes. As our sister, we have to give her space.”
I can certainly understand Fergie’s wishes to focus on her marriage and possibly start a family. As for Ashanti as her replacement, hmmm….. I’m not really convinced. We shall see.

The Long Island native turns 31 today!
The singer got her rise to fame back in 2002 with hit single “Foolish”. Her debut album even made history garnering her the highest selling debut by a single artist at the time. Simply titled ‘Ashanti’ sold 503,000 units in its first week.
Currently working on several projects, the singer recently released single “Never Too Far Away” for the upcoming film ‘Dream House’. Hopefully an album will be sure to follow.
