Well, the secret is out! The pop icon credits her plant-based vegan diet for keeping her in such great shape. In fact, the singer says she has lost 65lbs as a result of changing her diet.
It’s pretty hard to believe that Bey lost that much weight considering she was already gorgeous and in great shape even before her 22-day vegan challenge with hubby Jay Z back in 2013.
As for what inspired the star to change her diet? She credits the birth of her daughter back in 2011 for inspiring her to want to make a change for the better.
After having my daughter, I made a conscious effort to regain control of my health and my body. But I didn’t want to do a crash diet. I was a mom now. I needed to change my ways and set an example for my child.
We [even] celebrated my husband’s birthday with an all-vegan party. I can still see the reaction on our friends faces. Some were extremely excited while others had some reservations, but in the end, we all enjoyed it immensely.
The truth is that if a Houston-born foodie like me can do it, you can too. You just need to try it for 22 days.
