You’ve read that right. Ben Affleck has been chosen to replace Christian Bale as the new batman.
He’ll take on the lead role in the upcoming sequel, ‘Man of Steel’. Unfortunately for him, not many fans are happy nor can they imagine Affleck as their Batman.
In fact, Thursday night following the announcement Twitter was in an uproar about the casting chose.
But Warner Brothers are convinced they have chosen the right man to play the role. Here’s the official statement.
WB says, “We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”
This ins’t the first time Affleck has played a superhero, by the way. Do you all recall ‘Daredevil’ back in 2003? Yeah, those are Affleck’s credentials.
But let’s not forget, the Boston native is an Academy Award winning actor and director. Shall we give Affleck a chance?
What are your thoughts CK readers? Do you think Ben Affleck was the right choice?
