Toni Braxton recently went ‘Behind The Music’ with VH1 and expressed disappointment in a 1998 interview with Oprah Winfrey following her bankruptcy file.
Braxton indicates Oprah had a hand in her music career going south since then.
She says, “She was so frickin’ mean to me. I was in shock.
I couldn’t believe it ‘cause I loved her so much. I admired her and looked up to her and she pretty much reprimanded me.
She says to me, ‘I heard you have Gucci flatware. I’m Oprah Winfrey and I don’t have Gucci flatware’.
You ain’t got Gucci flatware because you didn’t want to buy it, not because you couldn’t afford it! What do you mean?
And immediately she made me feel this big. That moment completely changed my career. It made people look down on me.”
Here’s the problem I’m having just like many of you may be having, I presume. Toni filed for bankruptcy again in 2010. Clearly, she either doesn’t know how to manage her money or is ill informed about her finances. The first time it happened was unfortunate, the second time, I’m sorry Toni but it is your fault. The first filing should have made you more cautions and more encouraged to learn more about how you’ve earned, spend, and your manage as well as who manages your money and just how much you’re paying these people.
In fact, Toni is currently being sued by her bankruptcy trustees over allegations she transferred nearly $53.5 thousand to ex-husband Keri Lewis in order to avoid paying debtors.

I’m sorry Toni but we just can’t sympathize.
If Toni thinks her career suffered following her interview with Oprah, it’s certainly going to be buried now.
