On Friday a Florida judge ordered George Zimmerman back to jail after it was discovered he and wife, Shellie, lied about the state of their finances. In consequence his bond was revoked.
Zimmerman turned himself in to the authorities, Sunday afternoon in Sanford, FL, according to a blog post from his lawyer, Mark O’Mara.
Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, must now remain in jail while he awaits trial for shooting 17 year old Trayvon Martin back in February following an altercation resulting and an exchange of words.
Its reported Zimmerman approached, what he says, the suspicious teen after police officials asked him to stand down. The altercation resulting in a fatal shooting sparked national outcry of injustice and racial profiling. He was convicted of second degree murder back in April and was released out on bond to much dismay.
He’s believed to placed under protective custody pending trial.
