After 3 days of deliberation, a Chicago juror found William Balfour guilty of murdering the mother, brother and nephew of Oscar award winner Jennifer Hudson.
Prosecutors describes Balfour’s crime as an act of vengeance by a jilted husband. Balfour had been the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia at the time of the murders.
Hudson, who had been in attendance for the trial and even took the witness stand, was visibly shaken and overcome with emotions as the verdict was read.
Balfour is facing a mandatory life sentence.
