Although T.I‘s attorney, Jonathan Leonard recanted reports that the rapper will be released today, Wednesday, August 31st, he was in fact released just this morning from Arkansas’ Forrest City Federal Prisons.
The Grammy award winning rapper, who served ten of his 11 months sentence for drug possession and violating parole from a previous charge, immediately took to twitter to tweet about his new found freedom.
According to TMZ,
Chris Burke, spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, tells us T.I. was released at 7:29 AM local time … and is “in transit” to begin the next leg of his sentence.
T.I. checked into prison on November 1, 2010 — and he was originally scheduled to be released on September 29.
Fortunately for Tip, the release comes just in time for his 31st birthday, September 25th. If remained in prison until his original release date, September 29th, he would have had no choice but to celebrate it there.
We hope this time will be the last he ever serves time in jail. Congrats!
