Carmelo Anthony Traded To New York Knicks

Well what do you know, free agent Carmelo Anthony has made a decision and he is headed to the New York Knicks! As of late last night, Anthony signed a deal turning down 65 million  to extend his contract with the Denver Nuggets to join Amar’e Stoudamire in New York. Many suspected but many didn’t believe Melo would actually take the bait. Anthony, wife LaLa Vasquez, both New York bred, and young son  Kiyan are said to be making arrangements to move back to the big apple as soon as possible.

As per ESPN,

As a part of the deal, the Kincks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash, league sources told Broussard. Along with Anthony, New York would acquire Chauncey Billups , Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman, the sources said.

New York will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal in exchange for Corey Brewer, a league source told Broussard.

Anthony will make an official announcement sometime today and should be suited up for Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s expected to sport a different number from the number 15 he’s sported since his days at Syracuse. New York fans are beyond happy I’m sure. This may be what the Knicks need to build an all star team and finally head to the championships. Congrats Carmelo or should I say Knicks fans.
