Snoop Stops By ‘The Wendy Williams Show’

0

Rapper Snoop Dogg stopped by ‘The Wendy Williams Show ‘ yesterday to discuss his longevity in the industry, never winning a Grammy, his marriage and kids. Here’s what he had to say below.

Snoop explains why he filed for divorce from his wife two years ago:
WW:
Snoop has been married to his wife Shante, who we affectionately call ‘boss lady,’ for 12 years. There was one point where, just a few years ago, you separated. It was very public and not a big secret. How did you make it work to come back together?
SD: I’m the one who chose to separate and divorce because I thought that I wanted to be in the world and free. That’s what I thought, but then I had to realize that the best thing in the world was my wife and my kids. So I had to reshuffle and get my thoughts together and she accepted me back and I’m back at home.

Snoop Dogg talks about his new album, Malice N Wonderland, and the difference between this release and his past albums:

SD: This CD is a more mature Snoop Dog. I’m kind of lenient towards the women on this one because my mom and my wife and my daughter and my grandmother cornered me off one day and told me that I needed to better my way of saying things towards the women. It’s a little nicer for the women to listen to this record.

Wendy discusses how Snoop has never won a Grammy:

WW: Snoop has been nominated for a Grammy 12 times and has never won.

SD: Now I wanted to act like Kanye West you know?

WW: How does that make you feel? You’re like the Susan Lucci of Hip Hop and even she won at one point.

SD: I feel great just to be recognized, to be nominated even 12 times. Sooner or later, I feel like if I am destined to get one, I’ll have one. But to me, my Grammy Award is when I coach football and I’m with the little kids and spending my time with them.

How the idea for Snoop to lend his voice to a GPS driving system came about:

SD: We were driving in the car one day and we got sick and tired of hearing that lady telling us to turn left, turn right. And I said, ‘You know what would be great idea is for people to roll with the Snoop Dogg. Let me put my voice on the thing and see what it can do.’
